"Nobody knows why, nobody remembers the last time it hit, nobody can stop it. It has been several decades since the magical apocalypse happened. For a week, cars stalled, planes dropped out of the sky, monsters dropped into the street, technology didn't work at all. It returned, but now, magic comes back in waves, cutting off technology. When the technology is up, magic doesn't work.
Before the shift, there were other, higher beings. Thought to be an evolution of humans, angels created vampires to escape the ever-present effects of the toxin in their blood, archangels ruled over various lands throughout the world.
Now, the world we once knew, or thought we knew, has turned on us. During that first week, people woke up turned into animals, shapeshifters. They woke up as vampires, angels even. Some developed unique gifts, like telepathy, empathy and telekinsis. The monsters that were just fairy tales and fables have become our living nightmares. How do we survive? What has happened to the world we once knew? Can we control it? Can we predict it?"
